Volunteers look like everyday people, but their not. The Rotarians that participate, spend thousands of hours giving of themselves in a belief that they can change the world by changing one life at a time. They may not always see the results but that does not deter them. Many Rotarians are involved in various aspects of the youth exchange program including student selection, compliance with immigration and Rotary regulations, hosting, and supporting students. Each student is sponsored by a Rotary Club and Rotary District in their home country and is hosted by a Rotary Club and Rotary District in their host country. Everyone from the district chair, to the cousleors are volunteers.

Each Rotary Club in our district has a Youth Exchange Officer (YEO) and Counselor for each student. Youth Exchange Officers server as a liason between the Club and the District. Counselors support the student and the families. With this structure, District 5230 has ensured a large support system for our inbound students and their host family.
